Edmonton Fringe Festival
Story Title: Edmonton Fringe Festival
Each year Edmonton in Alberta, Canada, plays host to the second largest fringe festival in the world. Trevor and Kim show you around this amazing festival and let you know why it should be added to your bucket list.
Village of the Fringed
- The Edmonton Fringe Festival is a festival with a difference. Instead of international acts being selected by the promoters, all performers and performances are placed in a lottery and selected at random – those acts selected are the ones you’ll see at the festival.
- In 2012 the Fringe Festival celebrated its 31st year and played host to 1800 performances that were unjuried and uncensored.
- The festival also plays hosts to buskers, children’s activities, artisans and food vendors.
- Admission into the festival is free and you will pay between $7 and $13 to view a performance. One hundred per cent of the ticket sales go directly to the performers you see on stage.
