The Charlevoix Region
Story Title: The Charlevoix Region
Trevor and Kim jump on the specially designed Le Train Du Massif to discover the Charlevoix region and how Cirque Du Soleil creator Daniel Gauthier has opened the region of his childhood to the world.
Foodie’s Heaven
- Up until recently, the Charlevoix region was inaccessible to tourists. Despite boasting some of the best skiing in North America, it has been a very well kept secret. That is, until Daniel Gauthier decided to build a train line from Quebec to Charlevoix where the train literally stops at the front door of the Hotel La Ferme.
- Both the train and the hotel boast some of the best cuisine in the province of Quebec and this is due to the local produce used.
- The Charlevoix region has been toted as being more ‘French’ than France thanks to its isolation from the dramatic political and social changes. They produce and farm food much in the same way as you could have experienced 400 years ago.
- A great way to view the Charlevoix region is through a motorbike sidecar tour, which the hotel can organise for you
- If you love your duck products, than a visit to La Ferme Basque de Charlevoix is a must for your Quebec experience.
